Tipperary Racecourse have been in touch to ask the Side Saddle Association to put on a simple display at their ‘Fillies Friday night out’ race night for Action Breast Cancer.
Riders are asked to parade in the ring for this event and GROUND PERMITTING (!) we might also be able to have a canter down the track in front of the stands. It will be a great practice for the noise and excitement that accompanies the Dublin Horse Show less than a week later.
The display will take place immediately after the 6.30 race. All interested riders are asked to phone Ciara immediately on 087 2266 321. Please note you must be a fully paid up member of the SSA to take part.

There is a week long festival taking place in Tipperary to mark the Centenary of the song ‘It’s a long way to Tipperary”. The Side-Saddle Association has been asked to put on a side saddle parade/display at Tipperary Racecourse on Saturday 14th July which will be a ‘Vintage Day’ at the track. Side Saddle riders will enter the parade ring between races and there will be commentary to explain side saddle and promote the Association. Weather and ground permitting the Side Saddle riders may be allowed out onto the Race Track and parade in front of the Stand.Ciara Ryan is the main organiser in this parade.The display in tipperary racecourse is going to be on at approx 4.15 on Saturday, we will have further details tomorrow. If you would like to participate in the side saddle display to take place at the RDS on 16th August in Ring 2. You will need to attend the training days.

We have confirmation from the Equestrian Committee for the Side saddle display to take place at the RDS on 16th August in Ring 2. Anyone wishing to be considered must be a paid up Member of the Side Saddle Association of Ireland and attend at least one training session
There will be at least 2 training days.
